Volunteer orientations are held at the beginning of each college semester. January, May, July, and September.

Active volunteer involvement accomplishes a dual role at Utah State Hospital.
Acceptance
It helps our patients to feel accepted by the community and helps them to relate socially.
Involvement
Community involvement is a teaching experience to help educate the community about mental illness and the programs offered at USH.

Volunteer Opportunities for Everyone
Whether you are part of a large group or an individual looking for volunteer opportunities, there are a variety of ways you can get involved and make a difference at the hospital. We welcome volunteers of all skill sets and backgrounds, and can provide opportunities that are tailored to your interests and availability.
Variety of Areas
Volunteers help in a variety of areas. They are involved with occupational, recreational, and physical therapy. Many church and community groups sponsor patient activities.
Groups and Individuals
Volunteers are a valuable resource to the Hospital and their involvement is always encouraged and welcome. There are many opportunities for individuals, groups, students, Eagle Scouts, etc. to volunteer at the hospital especially during the summer months.
